Paul Volpe is the latest player to join Table 58 and is already right in the thick of the action.

Table 58 continues to be the central hub of action on Day 2 of the High Roller as more players fall and chips get added to the stack of Adrian Mateos. Recently, Jake Schindler and David Peters were eliminated (and have since re-entered) while Lander Lijo is starting to move toward the rank of the chip leaders.

Schindler was all-in for about 35,000 with A10♣ against the A♠K♠ of Lijo. The Q♣J♠369 board was no good for Schindler and he headed to the cage to try again.

Within the same orbit, Mateos knocked out Peters with J♣J against the 55 of Peters when Peters’s last 60,000 went in the middle preflop. Mateos is now playing 850,000 and continuing to separate himself from the field.

A few hands later, Lijo took down a pot of the post-flop variety against David Eldridge and Paul Volpe. Eldridge raised to 9,000 on the button and the combo of Volpe and Lijo called from the blinds. The 44♠3 board checked to Eldridge, and he bet 7,000 more. Volpe called but Lijo decided enough was enough and raised to 28,000. Eldridge and Volpe conceded and Lijo chipped up to 275,000.

As the field gradually thins down, Table 58 should become a source of more action with Mateos holding court.
