Paul Volpe is back on track after doubling up through David Stamm with pocket aces.
The small pot trend officially hit an end as Paul Volpe is now close to 1,000,000 after doubling up through David Stamm. Volpe has been getting active in recent hands and perhaps that played a role in him finding the double up through Stamm.
Stamm opened in the hijack to 32,000 and Volpe three-bet from the cutoff to 81,000. Once action folded back to Stamm, he wasted little time in moving all-in. Volpe called right away with for 444,000 total with A♥A♠. Stamm turned up A♣5♣ and realized the trouble he was in.
The Q♥10♥6♣ flop was a wall of bricks for Stamm and the Q♠ turn locked up the double for Volpe. He is now third in chips behind Chris Hunichen and Martin Kozlov, both of whom are just over 1,000,000 themselves. Stamm is now right next to David Peters for table short stack with 520,000 with Peters having 100,000 less than that.
