Chris Popescu went through his fair share of hardships to make today’s final table. Popescu started the day in dead-last out of the 115 players who made Day 2, with 19,000. Popescu started the final table on the short stack and managed to make a few pay jumps but his short stack crawl to glory is officially at an end.

Rich Dixon opened in early position to 100,000 and Popescu called all-in for 90,000 from one seat over. Darren Healy committed calling chips from the big blind and Popescu had a chance to triple-up. Dixon and Healy checked down the 10♣9♣7♥2♠6♥ board, leaving Popescu’s fate up to showdown.

Healy showed 9♥4♦ which beat the Q♠J♦ of Dixon. Popescu tabled ace-high A♣J♥ and headed to the payout desk. Healy is the table chip leader with 4,350,000 while Dixon is down to 2,000,000.
