Rich Dixon

The heads up match between Rich Dixon and Darren Healy lasted for just over an hour and the action was non-stop throughout their full match. Both players held the lead at one point or another with both having a strong chance to pull out the win. In the end, though, Healy managed to flop perfect against Dixon and hold on long enough to claim victory.

The final hand of the tournament started with Healy opening to 600,000 on the button. Dixon three-bet to 2,000,000 and Healy called. The flop came out K♣J♣9♣ and Dixon moved all-in for approximately 4,250,000. Healy called right away and tabled A♣5♣ for the nut flush. The 10♣10♦ of Dixon was drawing to a single out for the straight flush. The A♥ was not that card and the 10♠ river was too little, too late to save Dixon.

The two players shook hands as they wrapped up their match that was cordial throughout on the part of both players. Dixon earns $59,0036 for his efforts after a great run in Event 42. A winner’s recap will be posted shortly.
