Nicholas Blakiston

The swingy game of PLO8 had a large impact on Nicholas Blakiston’s tournament life. Blakiston started Day 2 as the chip leader and carried that into the final table. From there, he moved back and forth on the leaderboard before finally seeing his last hand, with Lance Howard sending him out.

Blakiston was all-in for 270,000 with AQ5♠3♣ versus the K♠K♣66♠ of Howard. The K74 flop left Blakiston needing a low card to stay alive. The 10♣ turn was not that and neither was the 10♠ river. Howard collected the pot and is now playing 1,120,000.

Raouf Malek and Hector Salgado are both in danger of being eliminated next with both players under 400,000.
