The short-stacked players at the Event 46 final table have done a reasonable job of keeping their tournament lives intact with Hector Salgado and Nicholas Blakiston both winning all-ins to remain in.
Salgado took down an all-in against Blakiston when his A♠2♥7♣5♣ held against Blakiston’s K♠9♦6♠3♠ on a A♣J♣8♣7♠10♠ board to double up to 400,000.
Blakiston was then short himself and won against Veerachai Vongxaiburana to stay alive. Blakiston held 8♥7♣6♣3♦ against Vongxaiburana’s A♠Q♣10♣6♥ and the J♣8♦4♣K♦K♣ board gave him a pair, which was enough to double to 300,000. Vongxaiburana fell to 860,000 with the hit.
For good measure, Blakiston took a big Frankie O’Dell to get back to a reasonable chip stack. O’Dell and Blakiston got their chips in on a 10♥7♠5♦6♦ board with Blakiston holding the A♣8♠4♦3♦ to O’Dell’s Q♥5♥4♠3♠. The 6♣ river gave Blakiston the pot to get back to 750,000. O’Dell is now playing 450,000.
Raouf Malek is the new short stack with just 240,000.
