Anthony Maio
Anthony Maio hit his peak earlier at the Event 51 final table but lost every meaningful pot after that point. Maio lost most of his chips to Niv Decalo and was finished off shortly after by Harrison Gimbel
Maio opened to 45,000 and Decalo called on the button. Maio checked the A♣10♥5♥ flop and Decalo bet 50,000. Maio called and then led for 65,000 on the K♥ turn. Decalo called and Maio checked the 5♦ river. Decalo bet 100,000 and Maio called to see Decalo roll over A♥3♥ for the nut flush. Maio mucked and was left with about 170,000. Decalo is second behind Gimbel with 800,000.
A few hands later, Gimbel shoved the small blind with A♣J♣ and Maio called with K♣Q♥. The 7♠4♣2♦4♥3♦ board was good news for Gimbel and he knocks out yet another opponent. Gimbel is now playing close to 1,600,000.
