The Venetian has handed out millions in prizes so far in DSE III and with the money bubble right around the corner on Day 2, three players are closing in on earning another trip to the payout cage in the poker room.

Rick Alvardo just missed out on a DSE III trophy in Event 23, when he finished third in the $1,100 SuperStack. That cash was worth $47,000 to Alvarado, who has four cashes in total this summer including a WSOP final table in PLO. The Californian is currently grinding a short stack but is plenty capable of spinning it up back into contention.

Harrison Gimbel put on a dominating performance in Event 51 when he took over the latter stages of the $1,100 Bounty final table and closed out the victory. Gimbel has been on quite the heater over the past few months as anyone who has followed all forms of poker can attest to and he is on the verge of yet another payday.

Rick Block is on the precipice of joining the current group of chip leaders and making another run in a huge Venetian field. Block reached the final table of the 8-Max event earlier this week and is keeping that positive momentum going so far today. Sitting on close to 500,000, Block is plenty familiar with what it takes to climb the pay ladder on Day 2 and into Day 3.
