Martin Finger’s Day 3 is off to a great start after taking down a four-bet pot against Marty Mathis.
It’s difficult to imagine Martin Finger had a better start to his day in mind than what just transpired against Marty Mathis. The two got tangled in a strange pot but the result is Finger being second in chips after taking almost 500,000 from Mathis.
Mathis opened in early position to 65,000 and Finger three-bet to 200,000 in the cutoff. Mathis went to four-bet but due to some assembly issues, his bet came out a bit stringy despite him announcing “475,000.” The floor ruled Mathis’s raise was a min-raise to 335,000 and Finger called.
Mathis continued for 240,000 on the J♣6♠6♥ board and Finger came along. Both players checked the 4♦ turn and 10♠ river. Mathis showed K♣Q♠ and Finger rolled over A♦Q♥. Finger took in the pot and is playing 2,360,000 while Mathis has work to do after being knocked down to 1,000,000.
