Another successful DeepStack Championship event is in the books. This time, our Event #30 $600 NLH MonsterStack $250K GTD attracted an impressive 466 players who created a prize pool of $250,000; leaving an overlay of $14,670. Of those, 59 made it to Day 2, and we paid out 54 places.
The final table lasted a touch over three hours with relatively quick play throughout.
Alex Jacoby came into the final table with almost double the stack of his nearest opponent, and took out three players in a row, to extend his lead with five players remaining.
Once three-handed, and after 30-minutes of play, Jacoby, as well as George Long and Dimitri Huybrechts, discussed a deal.
Jacoby had Long barely covered, but it would be enough to see him take down the event, after the three players agreed to a chop.
Jacoby took down his first Venetian DeepStack tournament and collected his biggest score to date. It also bumped his career earnings to over $120,000.
Congratulations again to Alex Jacoby from Tucson, AZ.
