Another successful DeepStack Championship event is in the books. This time, our Event #51 $800 NLH Seniors (50+) $750K GTD attracted a whopping 1,449 players who created a prize pool of $1,014,300; crushing the guarantee of $750,000. Of those, 209 made it to Day 2, and we paid out 153 places.
After eleven hours of play the final table was reached. An additional two-and-a-half hours was all that was needed to crown a champion of the event.
The final three players; Daniel Lacourse (four knockouts), Mark Estes (two knockouts) and Mitchell Butchie (one knockout) dispatched of their final table opponents in no time at all before they were left three-handed.
Here they agreed on a three-way chop that saw Butchie finish in third, Estes in second, and Lacourse as the champion of the event. Each player collected an impressive six-figure score for their efforts.
Lacourse would become victorious, collecting his second DeepStacks trophy, after winning this exact event back in 2013.
Congratulations again to Daniel Lacourse from Las Vegas, NV.
