Matthew Leecy and Clement Richez have tangled numerous times during today’s final table with the two sides trading blows. It wasn’t quite a knockout punch, but Leecy conected on a strong uppercut to leave Richez dazed.
Vi Do opened to 50,000 on the button and Richez three-bet to 160,000 in the small blind. Leecy called out of the big blind and Do mucked. Richez and Leecy checked the A♠8♥5♣ flop and then Richez bet 250,000 on the 5♦ turn.
Leecy thought for a minute and committed the calling chips. Richez fired a 350,000-chip chamber on the 9♦ river and Leecy called after 30 seconds of pondering. Richez showed A♣Q♠ but he had been rivered by Leecy’s A♦9♠.
Richez sprang out of his chair in understandable frustration and watched his stack fall to 480,000. Leecy is playing 1,950,000 and holds over half of the chips in play.
