Maxim Sorokin
Maxim Sorokin had as good of a chance as he could ask for against Jim Cavanaugh to eliminate his opponent to claim a bounty but also to chip up in the fight against Raffaele Sorrentino. The deck had other ideas, though, and Sorokin is out as a result.
Paul Hoefer opened to 80,000 under the gun and Cavanaugh three-bet all-in for 560,000 in the cutoff. Sorokin called with only 25,000 more than Cavanaugh from the small blind and Hoefer got out of the way. Cavanaugh opened up A♥J♥ and was facing the A♦K♦ of Sorokin.
The K♥K♠J♦ flop left Cavanaugh needing runners to survive and he picked up the 8♥ on the turn to increase his chances. The 10♥ river gave him his flush and the double. Sorokin was eliminated a few hands later by Sorrentino and the final table is down to five.
