The only bracelet winner at the Event 134 final table, Scott Clements, is the first to exit tonight. As a result of his elimination, Jeff Battaglia is the new chip leader.
Clements pushed for 415,000 under the gun and Battaglia matched in the hijack. Anthony Wynn tanked for two minutes on the button and then folded. Frankie Flowers called right away in the small blind and began to turn his cards over once the big blind folded before noticing Battaglia was in the pot.
“You called, too?” said Flowers. He then checked in the dark and Battaglia checked behind on the J♦9♣4♦ flop. The action repeated on the 9♦ turn and Flowers checked again on the 7♥ river. A bet of 400,000 from Battaglia got Flowers to fold.
Clements turned over 2♦2♥ and was crushed by Battaglia’s J♣J♥. Battaglia doubled through Flowers at the start of the final table and is on top for now.
