Well, the first of our multi-day DeepStack Showdown tournaments is in the books. Event #6, our $400 NLH DoubleStack $100K GTD, attracted 311 players and offered a prize pool of $104,185. Both Days 1A and 1B began payouts when the field was whittled to ten percent, and the top five percent from each day bagged their chips for Day 2.
Day 2 began with 16 players, and we reached the final table rather quickly. Our final table was a great group of guys who seemed to be genuinely enjoying themselves as play was friendly and lighthearted albeit strategic and competitive. The chip lead shifted around a bit, and the table progressed quite quickly as well.
When all was said and done, our top three agreed on a deal, and Blake Shapiro emerged as our champion, winning a hefty $18,700 and our stunning trophy. Congratulations again to Blake Shapiro.
And congratulations to the rest of our final table.
