DeepStack Showdown Event #3 Final Table Wrap Up

Another successful DeepStack Showdown series is in the books: Event #3 $400 NLH MonsterStack $250K GTD. This event attracted a whopping 823 players who competed for a total prize pool of $275,705. Of those, 43 made Day 2.

We reached our final table quite quickly, especially after a triple elimination meant our final table consisted of only eight players. In addition to some familiar faces, we had a few visitors as well. All in all, it was a very pleasant mix of competitors.

Champ Eric Baldwin entered Day 2 as second chip leader, and he was, indeed, the overall chip leader when the final table began. Baldwin never relinquished this lead although runner up Andrew Campbell tried to give him a run for his money several times. It was pretty easy for Baldwin to retain his lead with his impressive skills coupled with some equally impressive luck.

When all was said and done, Eric Baldwin reigned supreme, winning a very respectable $52,505 and our beautiful and highly coveted trophy. Baldwin is definitely no stranger to Venetian tournaments. In fact, during our DeepStack Extravaganza III back in September, Baldwin won both Event #15 $400 NLH MonsterStack $35K GTD and nearly $12,000 as well as the prestigious Event #29 $1,100 NLH MSPT $250K GTD and just over $80,000. Indeed, Baldwin has had a pretty decent few months here at the Venetian. Congratulations again, Eric.
