Well, another hugely successful DeepStack Extravaganza tournament is in the books. This time it was our DSE IV Event #31 $400 NLH Seniors (50+) MonsterStack $30K GTD that drew 173 players who vied for the guarantee-exceeding $57,609 prize pool. Of them, 27 players returned for Day 2, and 18 found themselves in the money.
Our final table was the usual mix of locals and visitors, familiar faces and non-familiar faces, but everyone was in good spirits.
Scott Epstein and Robert Lichter both entered the final table relatively short-stacked, but their persistence and tenacity—along with some help from the poker gods—kept them alive to finish second and third, respectively. Others weren’t quite as lucky. At one point, Rick Munro had a commanding chip lead but some heartbreaking rivers took their toll on his chip stack.
When all was said and done, Dan Hummer had the chip lead when the remaining four gentlemen agreed to a deal and, therefore, was declared the champ. The other three gentlemen were all smiles themselves as well. All-in-all, not a bad day at the poker table.
Congratulations again to Dan Hummer, his hefty $12,160 first-place prize, and his lovely new trophy.
Congratulations again to the rest of our final table.
