Qiao Chi
The final $600 SuperStack event of DSE III drew another huge field and Qiao Chi was among the chip leaders heading into Day 2’s action. Chi built his stack to over 3,000,000 heading into the final table and never looked back on his way to victory.
The combination of getting there when he didn’t have it and calling correctly when he did helped Chi achieve victory at his second DSE III final table of the summer. Chi finished seventh in Event #29 $600 $70,000 guaranteed and managed to get over the finish line on this occasion.

Dorian Rios
Dorian Rios did his part to avoid elimination at the Event 107 final table but faced a massive disadvantage upon facing Qiao Chi heads up. Rios didn’t go down without a fight but was on the bad end of a cooler and finishes second.
Rios was all-in 1,500,000 with J♥J♠ against the K♣K♥ of Chi and could only laugh at the situation he was in. The A♦2♣2♥4♥8♦ board brought Rios nothing and Chi earns the victory. A full winner’s recap will be posted shortly.

Alexander Fu
Qiao Chi has hit his fair share of hands at tonight’s final table but when it came time to call correctly, he did so and Alexander Fu’s tournament ended as a result.
Chi raised to 225,000 out of the small blind and Fu flatted the big blind. Chi continued for 225,000 on the 5♣5♠6♥ flop. Fu called and the Q♣ came on the turn. Chi bet 425,000 and Fu raised to 975,000. Chi thought for a moment and called leading to the Q♥ river.
Chi checked and Fu went all-in for 1,790,000. Chi thought it over for close to three minutes, verbally mulling over his options. Chi gathered chips and put them in the middle, leaving Fu to turn over 9♦6♣. Chi had that beat with A♦A♠ and Fu is out in third.
Chi comes into heads up play against Dorian Rios with 13,200,000 to Rios’s 1,445,000.

Xiu-Xian Deng
Within the same orbit of Paul Ahi’s elimination, Xiu-Xian Deng exited after grinding her short stack all the way to fourth place.
Deng moved all-in for 870,000 under the gun with A♠8♦ and Qiao Chi called on the button holding 4♦4♥. The blinds released and the flop came out K♥J♦5♥. The 6♠ did not nothing to improve Deng and she was officially out after the 2♥ fell on the river.
Deng takes home $25,088 and Chi improves to 9,250,000.

Paul Ahi
In one of the first hands off the deck in the new level, Paul Ahi fell to Alexander Fu and the field is now four-handed.
Ahi was all-in for 1,190,000 with Q♣Q♦ and Fu was in trouble with A♥6♦. The K♣Q♥10♥ flop gave Ahi a set with Fu live to hit a jack for broadway. The 5♦ missed Fu but the J♥ river was a bink and Ahi is out.
Fu chips up to 3,100,000 and Ahi earns $19,125.

The blinds are up in Event 107 and Qiao Chi still holds a commanding chip lead. Dorian Rios is in second place but would need a lot of things to break his way in order to have any hope of catching Chi in the immediate future. With Chi’s chip lead and pay jumps on the horizon, it will be interesting to see how the remaining four players decide to attack moving forward. The updated counts and remaining payouts are below.

Robert Vance
Qiao Chi has been dominant at the Event 107 final table and his lead puts him in possession of over half of the chips in play after busting players two in one hand.
Robert Vance moved all-in for 800,000 under the gun and Chi called on the button. Adrian Armendariz jammed for 2,315,000 total from the big blind and after some thought, Chi called to put him at risk. Chi’s Q♣J♣ was live against the A♦K♣ of Vance but Armendariz had him crushed with Q♥Q♠.

The 10♣9♠4♥ flop was perfect for Chi as he picked up an open-ended straight draw. The 8♥ completed his straight and Vance was drawing dead. Armendariz needed a jack to chop but the 6♥ river secured his elimination.
Vance earns $11,250 with Armendariz earning the pay jump to $14,625. Chi sits behind 9,300,000 with the rest of the field under 20 big blinds.

Steve Foutty
In the most bizarre pot yet of the Event 107 final table, Steve Foutty was eliminated in a three-way all-in and Dorian Rios tripled up with Qiao Chi losing a small portion of his stack.
Foutty shoved for 835,000 in the cutoff and Rios called all-in with 560,000 on the button. Chi called in the big blind to put both players at risk with 5♣5♦ and was behind the 7♣7♠ of Rios but ahead of Foutty’s K♥10♥.
The A♠7♦3♠ flop gave Rios a set and Chi hit his own set on the 5♠ turn. Foutty was drawing dead and Chi missed his one-outer on the river and Rios survived.
Rios is playing 1,570,000 and Chi is holding down to 6,750,000, good for almost half of the chips in play. All players at the final table are below 20 big blinds with the exception of Chi.
