DSE NYE Event #31 Final Table Wrap Up
Well, another hugely successful DeepStack Extravaganza tournament is in the books. This time it was our DSE NYE Event #31 $600 NLH MonsterStack $300K GTD that attracted 703 players who combined for a guarantee-exceeding $358,530 prize pool. Of these players, 121 returned for Day 2, and 72 eventually found themselves in the money vying for a top prize of $73,497.
It took a while to reach the final table as would be expected given the large field and deep stacks. Once we did, however, it was pretty smooth sailing. As always, our final table was a nice mix of locals and visitors including two blokes from the UK, one of whom is a familiar face here. All in all, it was a pleasant and skilled bunch.
Our first and second place finishers, Jim Agate and Eliano Mesquita, each knocked out three of their opponents on their way to their heads-up duel. When all was said and done, however, our top two struck an amicable deal, and each walked away happy and ready to start the new year.
