There have been some amazing player accomplishments achieved during DSE III. From overall cashes to a streak of final tables, two players find themselves in the Day 1C field with a chance to add one more strong result.

Will Givens turned in a great week in late-May when he reached consecutive final tables in multi-day SuperStack events. Those two scores earned Givens a piece of DSE III as he is one of the only players in DSE history to do that. Givens nearly reached the final table of the Event #99: $1,100 $1,500,000 guaranteed, but bowed out in 14th place, earning $20,000 for his efforts. As this is the last SuperStack event on the DSE III schedule, Givens needs to hit big in order to score the trifecta.

Mark Manesh has made six trips to the payout desk this series and a seventh would tie him with fellow Floridian Matt Yorra for the most during the DSE III series. Manesh has done most of his damage in the $1,100 Turbo events with three cashes there but also has two scores in the $1,100 Bounty tournaments. A $600 SuperStack cash would be a first for Manesh this series and mark his fourth payout in a multi-day event.

The beauty of Las Vegas in the summer is the abundance of tournaments taking place at any given time. The oasis of poker is starting to dry up with only a few events left on the schedule and two players who have been busy as of late are in today’s Day 1C taking one more crack at it.

Iverson Snuffer made waves last week when his “Heisenberg” table persona made an appearance on ESPN during coverage of the WSOP Main Event. Snuffer finished 96th in the Main, coming off the heels of his 40th place finish in the DSE III $3,500 $3,000,000 guaranteed event. Snuffer’s total Las Vegas earnings this summer are approaching $100,000 and with some “Crystal Blue Persuasion,” he might make his first final table of the series.

Ryan Phan’s summer hit a peak yesterday when he cashed out in 11th place in the CPPT $5,000 $2,000,000 guaranteed event at The Venetian. That run earned Phan nearly $50,000 and marks his largest cash out of the whopping 13 he’s made in the last few weeks. Phan is ready to head home to Omaha, NE but a DSE III trophy weighing down his bag would be plenty alright with him.

It seems like a long time ago, but the start of DSE III kicked off in mid-May. Before the calendar turned to June, a few players notched some strong results that set them up for a summer full of success.

Michael Sinclair has nine total cashes this summer, with the largest of them coming in Event #12: $400 $150,000 guaranteed. That payout grossed Sinclair over $8,000 and he has been property-hopping since looking to hit another final table. Sinclair has a few wins at the Venetian but a win in Event #107 would be his first in a DSE tournament.

Jason Thalas hit his high note by taking second in a four-way deal for Event #18 $600 $200,000 guaranteed. Thalas was the chip leader for most of that event and earned $31,000 for his two days of poker. There are very few events left on the DSE III schedule and if Thalas wants to move up one step higher on the podium, the time is now.

The $600 SuperStack events have been smashing guarantees for the entirety of the DSE III series and this week’s $250,000 guaranteed tournament is proving to be no different. In just two levels on Day 1C, the prize pool has eclipsed that amount and is sure to grow over the next few hours. Registration and unlimited re-entry are open until 6:50 pm and the full listing of payouts will be posted when they are available.

In the meantime, the Venetian Poker Room blog will be keeping tabs on the field size for this event and a few of the players taking their shot in one of the last DSE III tournaments of the summer.
