DeepStack Extravaganza II 2019
DeepStack Extravaganza II Event #29 Final Table Wrap Up
The final multi-day DeepStack Extravaganza II event is in the books, and it was, as usual, a tremendous success. Our Event #29 $250 NLH $200K GTD attracted a whopping 1,190 players who created a prize pool of $243,950. There were five flights, and we paid out the top 12 percent; however, the top five percent bagged for Day 2. While we planned for 61 players advancing to Day 2, a double elimination at the end of Day 1E resulted in only 60 players advancing.
Our final table was an eclectic bunch of gentlemen: old, young, foreign, domestic, large personalities, and quiet guys. We also had two players who wished to remain anonymous and, hence, were identified by their seat numbers.
As is always expected in a tournament of this size with deep chip stacks, the chip lead jumped around. At one point our second-place finisher (Seat #1) had an enormous lead; however, it was champion Tony Gordy’s back-to-back double-ups that catapulted him across the finish line. In fact, Gordy started the final table considerably short-stacked, yet he plugged away, played aggressively, and ended up taking home the win.
Congratulations again to Tony Gordy, taking home a hefty $37,650 and our beautiful trophy.
Congratulations again to the rest of our final table.
4th: Seat #2, $13,000
2nd: Seat #1, $24,000

DeepStack Extravaganza II Event #29 Final Table Update
As we are now heads-up, Tony Gordy just doubled up his 3.885 million against Seat #1 when Gordy called Seat #1’s all-in. Gordy hit a King on the flop to complement his K♣ 5♦ versus Seat #1’s 8♣ 6♣.
In the very next hand, Gordy doubled up again when he shoved with Q♠ A♠ and was called effective by Seat #1 with his 10♠ J♠. The board ran 3♦ 4♠ 9♦ 2♣ Q♥, and Gordy doubled his 8.08 million chip stack to become the overwhelming chip leader in this heads-up battle.
Onur Unsal Eliminated in 3rd Place ($17,500)

And the large pots continue. Here, Seat #2 took a huge hit from Seat #1. This hand began with Seat #2 raising to 250K from UTG, and Seat #1 calling from the big blind. Both men checked the A♦ 9♣ 7♦ flop. When a 7♥ hit the turn, Seat #1 led out with 225K, and Seat #2 called. A 6♦ fell on the river, and Seat #1 c-bed 525K. Seat #2 called. Seat #1 showed his 7♣ 8♣, and Seat #2 mucked.
Gary Lorgan Eliminated in 5th Place ($10,000)
Congratulations to Gary Lorgan from Las Vegas, NV who finished fifth in our DeepStack Extravaganza II Event #29 $250 NLH $200K GTD winning $10,000.
Lorgan fell to Tony Gordy after Lorgan shoved from the big blind in response to Gordy’s 400K raise from the small blind. Gordy snap called and flipped A♦ 5♥. Lorgan showed K♣ 9♠. Despite getting a King on the flop, Gordy got an Ace on the flop which held up.
