DeepStack Extravaganza (NYE) Event #26 Final Table Wrap Up

Well, DeepStack Extravaganza (NYE) Event #26 $400 NLH MonsterStack $100K GTD is in the books. With an incredible turnout of 573 players, our $100K guarantee was nearly doubled to $191,955. 71 players made it through to Day 2, and 63 of them found themselves in the money.

The final table had both familiar faces and some not-so-familiar. It played out, however, relatively quickly, and players were going all-in with considerable regularity. As usual, when we were down to five-handed play, there was a lull in the action as the old familiar raise-fold-fold-fold-fold came into being.

When all was said and done, Yossi Ben Kessous emerged victorious winning a hefty $40,322 prize and our highly coveted trophy. The already excitable Ben Kessous became even more animated following his big win. Congratulations again to Yossi Ben Kessous.

Brett Richie Eliminated in 2nd Place ($24,762)

Congratulations to Brett Richey from Las Vegas, NV who finished second in our DeepStack Extravaganza (NYE) Event #26 $400 NLH MonsterStack $100K GTD winning $24,762.

Richey was considerably short-stacked when we hit heads up, and he finally got Yossi Ben Kessous to call his all-in. Richey was hopeful for hearts with his 7♥ 8♥ but was dismayed when Ben Kessous turned over 10♥ A♥ and was subsequently eliminated when the board came K♠ Q♥ 3♣ 9♠ Q♦.

Lawrence Engerman Eliminated in 3rd Place ($18,044)

Congratulations to Lawrence Engerman from Las Vegas, NV who finished third in our DeepStack Extravaganza (NYE) Event #26 $400 NLH MonsterStack $100K GTD winning $18,044.

After Yossi Ben Kessous raised to 400K preflop, Engerman went over the top all-in and Ben Kessous snap called. It was Engerman’s K♥ J♥ versus Ben Kessous’ K♦ Q♠. There was ample drama as the board was revealed; however, the Q♥ 3♥ 7♣ 10♠ K♦ spelled Engerman’s demise.

Julie Polatchek Eliminated in 4th Place ($13,437)

Congratulations to Julie Polatchek from Las Vegas, NV who finished fourth in our DeepStack Extravaganza (NYE) Event #26 $400 NLH MonsterStack $100K GTD winning $13,437.

Polatchek called Lawrence Engerman’s all-in bet. Engerman showed Q♥ 9♥ and Poltachek flipped over 8♠ 7♣. When the board hit 4♣ 3♥ 8♥ J♦ 7♥, despite Polatchek’s two pair, Engerman hit his flush.
