Our DeepStack Extravaganza (NYE) Event #21 $340 NLH DoubleStack $100K GTD is in the books, and what a fantastic tournament it was. Of the 580 entrants, 71 made it to Day 2 and were playing for a prize pool of $162,400 that surpassed our guarantee.

The tournament got off to a quick start with two rapid eliminations before slowing down a bit. There were some exciting hands, large pots, and high emotions throughout. When we were three-handed, George Long, Yegor Moroz, and Seat #2 played for quite a while exchanging chip leads among them until we went heads-up.

Congratulations again to our mysterious Seat #2 who won $34,097 and our beautiful and highly coveted trophy.

After taking a huge hit from Seat #2 in the prior hand, Moroz went all-in with his Q♦ 5♣ versus Seat #2’s Q♠ K♥. With a King on the flop, Moroz had a feeling he would be eliminated and was.

Seat #2 has been slowly and deliberately building his chip stack. In one hand versus Yegor Moroz, Seat #2’s A♦ 9♣ held up against Moroz’s 8♥ 7♦ on a 5♣ 8♦ 3♥ 5♥ A♠ board. Seat #2 added 1.52 million to his stack.

On the next hand versus George Long, despite both men pairing their 9 on the flop, a five on the river gave Seat #2 two pair and a 2.72 million pot.

We haven’t had much action. There’s been a lot of raise and fold and several smallish pots won. During this time Yegor Moroz has slowly been building his chip stack, having come back from being quite short-stacked at the start of three-handed play.

Going into the Level 30 break, here’s where our remaining three stand:
