Viktor Lavi started the final table among the short stacks and is the second player to be ousted with Qiao Chi picking up his second bounty.

Lavi opened to 325,000 from the hijack, leaving himself with about 275,000 behind. Chi raised all-in from the small blind and Lavi called off with A♠5♠. Lavi was ahead with 6♣6♥ going to the flop.

Chi picked up a flush draw on the K♠10♦2♠ flop and turned the 10♠. Still live to hit a six or ten to stay alive, the K♥ river was it for Lavi.

Nick Yunis

Qiao Chi’s chip lead has ballooned since the start of the start of the Event 107 final table and his elimination of Nick Yunis has him far out of the pack.

Yunis was all-in for about 900,000 with A♣K♦ and was in a race against the Q♦Q♥ of Chi. The 10♥7♠3♦4♦10♦ board was not enough to salvage Yunis’s tournament life and he is the first player to exit.

The field continues to grow in Event 107 and on the second break of Day 1C, there are over 650 entrants. Registration is open for two more hours (6:50 pm) and the field is likely to hit 700 before then. All players will start with 20,000 chips regardless of when they enter and any player who enters on the other side of the break has 40 big blinds to work with.
