DeepStack Showdown Event #15 Wrap Up

Wow, this was a doozy of a tournament. We had some fierce competitors and some exciting hands. Scott Clements—our mysterious Seat #8 player throughout the tournament—finally emerged victorious after an extremely well-played final table and agreed to be revealed.

When we were three-handed, Sam Vizza and Michael Tureniec gave Clements a run for his money as the three gentlemen exchanged chip leads for quite a while.

All in all, this was a spectacular final table after a fantastic tournament that attracted 576 total players and offered a prize pool of $293,760.

Congratulations again to Scott Clements from Mount Vernon, Washington who emerged victorious, winning our DeepStack Showdown Event #15 $600 NLH DoubleStack $150K GTD, our gorgeous trophy, and $54,594.

In this, the tournament’s final hand, Sam Vizza—very short-stacked against Seat #8 at this point—went all in with his Q♣ J♦ versus his opponent’s A♥ 10♥. When the board came 9♠ 5♦ A♣ 3♦ 2♥, Vizza knew his tournament had finally come to an end.

Update on DeepStack Showdown Event #15 Final Table

The final table action is getting quite exciting.

Sam Vizza doubled up his 4.165 million chips when he called (after a long contemplation period) Seat #8’s all-in. Vizza showed A♦ 10♠ and Seat #8 flipped his pocket Kings. Vizza got extremely lucky when the board came 3♣ J♦ A♣ 2♥ A♥.

On the subsequent hand, Seat #8 earned back 2.065 million chips from Michael Tureniec when he turned a pair of Queens, then rivered trip Queens.
