The poker world currently has its eyes firmly set on the Super High Roller Bowl. The $300,000 buy-in event attracts a combination of the best players in the world and top businessmen looking to test their mettle. One participant from a Super High Roller Bowl of year’s past and another one who was in the 2017 field are both in today’s Day 1A session looking to claim a DSE III title.

As gregarious as he is competitive, business magnate John Morgan is a frequent participant in events at the Venetian but is also quite well known on the high roller circuit. Morgan took part in the first Super High Roller Bowl in 2015, when it was a $500,000 buy-in, and participated in the inaugural $1,000,000 “Big One for One Drop” event in 2012. Morgan currently owns one DSE title from November 2015 but with the amount of volume he puts it in, he could be on his way to a second victory before the end of the summer.

Ankush Mandavia participated in SHRB for the first time this year but was unable to emerge from a daunting table and busted on Day 1. One major detail that separates Mandavia from of his SHRB competitors is his willingness to compete in events of all buy-in levels. That fact is supplemented by his win in a $600 bounty event in February’s DSE I series. Mandavia plays in tournaments on a regular basis at the Venetian and today’s Day 1A is far from the last time we will see him over the summer.
