Airy Phanhyaseng is on the verge of claiming victory in Event 12.

Despite hitting a speed bump at the start of heads up play, Airy Phanhyaseng has since recovered and is moving toward his third career DeepStack Extravaganza victory. Phanhyanseng recently took a sizable pot from Ross Fabrizio and is mere steps away from the win.

Fabrizio opened to 300,000 and Phanhyaseng called to see the A♣6♦4♠ flop. Phanhyaseng checked and Fabrizio bet 400,000. Phanhyaseng check-raised to 1,100,000 and Fabrizio though for a moment before calling. The 10♦ turn and 3♣ river were both checked.

Phanhyaseng opened up 8♣6♣ to take the pot and is playing 8,250,000. Fabrizio has about 20 big blinds and is in need of a few pots to catch back up.

Ross Fabrizio is the first player to overtake Airy Phanhyaseng at the Event 12 final table and is the new chip leader. Fabrizio used aggression to muscle Phanhyaseng out of a pot and was rewarded handsomely.

Phanhyaseng raised to 200,0000 on the button and Fabrizio called to see a 7♥5♣4♠ flop. Fabrizio bet 275,000 and Phanhyaseng called to the 2♣ turn. Fabrizio shoved for 4,750,000 and Phanhyaseng released. Fabrizio showed 5♥4♥ as he took in the chips to move to 6,665,000

Shortly after the pot, the two players agreed to a deal. Both will earn at least $32,831 and have left $7,300 to play for along with the DSE trophy.

Dustin Lee

Three-handed play started as a battle between Dustin Lee and Ross Fabrizio to see which player would advance to heads up play against Airy Phanhyaseng and ended with Lee on the rail in a massive pot against Fabrizio.

Fabrizio opened for 250,000 on the button and Lee defended his big blind to see a 8♦3♥3♠ flop. Lee checked and Fabrizio bet 300,000. Lee called and the 2♣ peeled on the turn.

Lee checked again Fabrizio checked behind. Lee bet 350,000 on the 4♦ river and Fabrizio put him all-in for about 1,200,000 total. Lee took a minimal amount of time to call with K♣K♠ and Fabrizio rolled over K♥3♣ for flopped trips. Heads up play between Fabrizio and Phanhyaseng will commence shortly.

Lokesh Garg

Lokseh Garg started Day 2 fourth in chips and as fate would have it, is the fourth place finisher in Event 12. Airy Phanhyaseng added another bounty to his final table haul as he took the liberty of escorting Garg out.

Garg moved all-in for 1,250,000 on the button and Phanhyaseng isolated out of the small blind. Garg held two live cards K♣8♦ against the A♥Q♠ of Phanhyaseg. The A♠9♥4♦ flop all but ended the hand. Garg graciously took his leave and Phanhyaseng dragged in the chips to hit 7,000,000.

Airy Phanhyaseng is one step closer to victory as he sits behind about 60 percent of the 11,880,000 chips in play.

Airy Phanhyaseng’s chip lead over the final table is at new heights. He holds more than half of the chips in play with Ross Fabrizio serving as his latest victim.

Picking up the action on a board of A♥7♥5♠Q♣, Fabrizio bet 250,000 into a pot of about 475,000 out of the small blind and Phanhyaseng called from under the gun. Fabrizio checked the 2♣ river and Phanhyaseng bet 500,000.

Fabrizio thought for a full two minutes and called to see Phanhyaseng show him A♦J♥. Fabrizio was displeased to see that hand as he dips below 2,000,000. Phanhyaseng now sits with 6,750,000.

Will Givens

The theme of the big blind being the primary culprit in eliminating all-in players reached another peak with Dustin Lee taking out Will Givens. Givens never got out of first gear at the final table and ran into a monster hand against Lee.

Givens moved all-in for about 800,000 from under the gun with K♣J♠ and Lee called with K♦K♠ The Q♣Q♥6♠ flop did little for Givens and he was drawing dead after the 4♥ turn.

Givens shook hands with the table and left to collect his five-figure payday. Lee is playing 2,200,000 and Lokesh Garg is the new short stack with 750,000. The remaining payouts for the final four players are below.

Michael Sinclair

When Level 29 started, Michael Sinclair was the shortest stack left at the final table. Sinclair jumped a pay spot thanks to Ian Pearson’s elimination but is now on the outside looking in.

Sinclair moved all-in for 565,000 from under the gun and action folded to Ross Fabrizio, who called from the big blind. It was a flip for Sinclair as his K♥J♠ squared off against Fabrizio’s 10♥10♠ The 8♠3♠2♠ flop was as good as Sinclair could ask for as he managed to pick up a flush draw to go with his overcards.

The 7♥ turn kept the hand in Fabrizio’s favor and the 2♦ river cooled off Sinclair’s sweat. He earns $8,623 for his run and Fabrizio is second in chips now with 3,545,000.
