DeepStack Extravaganza Event 12 Champion –
Airy Phanhyaseng

Having a chip lead at the start of a final table comes with an inherent pressure to “finish the job” and Airy Phanhyaseng relished that pressure in Event 12. Phanhyaseng started the final table with almost 1,000,000 more than his nearest competitor and increased his stack within the first orbit of play.

Phanhyaseng picked up the right hands at the right time and wound up eliminating four of the final table participants. For a brief moment, Phanhyaseng lost the chip lead to Ross Fabrizio briefly during heads up play, but that was the only blemish on Phanyaseng’s final table performance as he ran wire-to-wire to claim victory.

Tonight’s win marks Phanhyaseng’s third in a DeepStack Extravaganza event and he is sure to be back again soon to try and win his second of the summer.

Ross Fabrizio

Ross Fabrizio put up a more than valiant fight against Airy Phanhyaseng but came up just short in his pursuit of a DSE III title. The final hand of the night epitomized Phanhyaseng’s night as he caught the right card at the right time to eliminate Fabrizio.

Phanhyaseng opened for 375,000 on the button and Fabrizio called to see a 7♦3♦2♥ flop. Fabrizio bet 400,000 and Phanhyaseng moved all-in for about 2,800,000 effectively.

Fabrizio called with Q♥7♠ and had his money in good against Phanhyaseng K♦2♦. The 8♠ turn had Fabrizio one step closer to the double but the 2♣ river gave Phanhyaseng trips and the victory.

Fabrizio earns $32,831 as part of the heads up deal made. A winner’s recap will be posted shortly.
