Kevin Johnson battled hard to stay alive for as long as possible at the Event 35 final table to stay alive but finally succumbed to the short stack pressure and is out in fifth.

Alan Phillips limped in from under the gun and Johnson shoved for 90,000 from the big blind. Phillips called with 8♦8♥ and Johnson’s Q♣J♣ was at risk. The K♣10♣6♦ flop gave Johnson and open-ended straight flush draw and he was a favorite heading into the turn. The K♠ gave Johnson, even more, outs but Phillips managed to fade them all on the 6♥ river to eliminated Johnson.

Phillips is at his final table peak with 700,000 as four-handed play is set to begin.
