Veerachai Vongxaiburana

The mixed game events are becoming a more featured part of the Deep Stack Extravaganza schedule and the PLO8 event did not disappoint as 239 runners turned out for some split pot fun. The final table was filled with players who had prior experience in the tournament version of this action-packed game and Veerachai Vongxaiburana was among them. Vongxaiburana finished fifth in this event during the 2015 DSE III series and avenged that finish here today.

Vongxaiburana took the lead early on during the final table and built his stack with well-timed aggression along with large pots going in his direction. As players fell around him, Vongxaiburana stayed away from major confrontations and started heads up play against Lance Howard with a decent chip advantage.

He lost the lead for a short while, but Vongxaiburana gained it back fairly quickly and took care of business in less than an hour. This is the first DSE title for Vongxaiburana and he has told us he will be back tomorrow for the $600 Big O event.
