Eric Wasylenko

In one of the largest comebacks of the DSE III series, Eric Wasylenko came back from having five big blinds with nine players remaining to win the Event 73 title. Wasylenko used tactical play to climb back from his initial deficit and then utilized the weight of his chip-leading stack to force the hand of his opponents during shorthanded play.

Wasylenko picked up the majority of his chips from Jeffrey Schwartz by both doubling through him and then eliminating Schwartz. Once Schwartz was eliminated, Wasylenko accumulated more chips during three-handed play to secure himself a firm deal in his heads up chop. Wasylenko took the chip lead into heads up play and then finished off Oscar Carrasco is short fashion.

Thie is the largest win of the Canadian student’s career and his biggest score of the 2017 summer.
