Clement Richez

Matthew Leecy was on the comeback trail against Clement Richez and had gained back enough chips that they started the final hand of the tournament with the exact same stack.

Leecy limped in on the button and Richez raised to 175,000. Leecy called and the flop came out K♥9♦4♦. Richez bet 225,000 and Leecy called to the 6♠ turn. Richez bet 400,000 and following a minute of thought, Leecy moved all-in for 1,540,000.

Richez called right away with K♦Q♣ but was drawing dead against the 6♦6♥ of Leecy. One their chip stacks were counted down and the exact total was confirmed, the two players shook hands and complimented each other on their respective play.

The Event 76 final table revolved around their heavyweight battle and in the end, it was Leecy who landed the knockout punch. A winner’s recap will be posted shortly.
