Peter Dykes

The start of Level 23 has already provided more 4th of July fireworks than the level that preceded it as Peter Dykes hit the rail and Clement Richez spiked the river to double.

Dykes opened in early position and Matthew Leecy called in the cutoff. Vi Do shoved for 310,000 in the small blind and Dykes called off for slightly less. Leecy folded and it was Do’s 7♣7 against the KK♠ of Dykes. The 7♠42♣ flop was all Do as he flopped a set. No third king came for Dykes and he is out in sixth, taking home $8,102. Do is peaking at the final table with 640,000.

Down to under 400,000 after doubling up Kyle Steinfelt, Richez hit against Andrei Boghean to leave Boghean on the short stack. Boghean opened with A♣10 on the button to 43,000 and Richez shoved with A9 in the small blind. Boghean thought hard about his decision and called to put Richez at risk.

The 8♦42♦ flop gave Richez a flush draw and after bricking the turn, he hit the 9♠ on the river to double up. Boghean is now down to 230,000. Richez is back to 850,000.
