Chance Kornuth was feeling giddy after hitting a two-outer to move over 5,000,000.

The trend of preflop all-ins has subsided in Level 27 for the most part and more hands are playing out in standard fashion. Chance Kornuth and Chris Tryba are both over 5,000,000 as a result of taking down sizable postflop pots and are the two current chips leaders.

Kornuth eliminated Xixang Luo to get where he is. Luo opened under the gun and Kornuth in middle position along with Jonathan Tamayo in the big blind saw a 964 flop. Tamayo and Luo checked to Kornuth and he bet 265,000. Tamayo called and Luo check-raised to 1,200,000.

Kornuth played with his chips and started down Luo for a few minutes before moving all-in for 2,750,000 total. Tamayo folded and Luo called for about 1,900,000 total with 9♠9. Kornuth trailed with JJ♠ and didn’t catch anything on the K♣ turn. The J♣ river, however, gave him a better set to send out Luo. A stunned Luo was unable to move from his seat for a minute as his tournament life flashed before his eyes.

Kornuth raked in the chips and is playing 5,100,000.

On an adjacent table, Tryba checked under the gun on a J♣6♣3♠ flop and Yaniv Peretz bet 325,000 into a pot of 700,000. Tryba called and the J♠ came on the turn. Both players checked and the J hit the river. Tryba checked again and called a bet of 475,000 from Peretz. Peretz’s K9 could not beat Tryba’s 7♣7 and Tryba took in the pot. He is up to about 5,250,000, putting him just ahead of Kornuth for the chip lead.
