Chance Kornuth blinded down in the latter part of the Event 99 final table and was never above 15 big blinds in the new level. Kornuth shoved and almost got through Athanasios Polychronopoulos, but a thought-out call by Polychronopoulos proved to be correct.

Kornuth jammed for 2,900,000 in the hijack and Polychronopoulos tanked for two minutes before calling for most of his stack in the cutoff. Kornuth showed up with Q♠10♥ and Polychronopoulos had him out-kicked with A♣Q♦. The A♥K♣Q♣ flop gave both players a little something and the A♦ turn gave Polychronopoulos the hand.
