Another successful DeepStack Championship event is in the books. This time, our Event #47 $1,100 NLH MonsterStack $500K GTD attracted 492 producing an overlay of $22,760. Of those, 74 made it to Day 2, and we paid out 54 places.
It took the field nine hours to get to the final table then an additional six hours to play down to a winner.
Donald Kimel was eliminated in the early stages of the final table when he fell to Enselme after committing with pocket nines against pocket tens. The window card was a nine but the following two cards were tens giving Enselme quads and an unbeatable hand.
Anuj Agarwal was the most active player at the table taking out the next four players and amassing a commanding chip lead in the process. He then had a strangle hold on Enselme who was all in holding ace-five against his ace-king. A five would flop which would cripple Argawal considerably. A moment later and he would fall in fifth place to John Bitakis.
Kane Lai would then take out Jonathan Martinelli and Bitakis to leave the match heads up.
The two players discussed a deal to chop the prize pool evenly but leave ten percent aside as well as the trophy for the eventual winner. This side prize would prove valuable as the two players battled for almost two hours before the final hand saw Lai hit the rail leaving Enselme the victor.
