Another successful DeepStack Championship event is in the books. This time, our Event #75 $1,100 NLH MonsterStack $1M GTD attracted 2,233 players who created a prize pool of $2,166,010; crushing the guarantee of $1,000,000. Of those, 225 made the money, collecting $3,466 for their efforts.
Day 2 restarted at 11am, and after fourteen hours of play, the returning field of 340 dwindled down to a final table of ten.
Josh Boulton was the first player to be eliminated in one of the opening hands of the final table.
An hour went by before the next player hit the rail. The following hour then saw five players hit the rail before the field was left with five.
Ankit Ahuja, who already had two knockouts to his name, took care of the next three players before setting up a heads-up match against Jesse Cohen.
Ahuja had an almost three-to-one chip lead coming into heads up play. Cohen, who had been relatively quiet through the final table, began to pressure Ahuja to a point where he almost gained the chip lead.
The final two players then agreed to an even chop heads-up that saw both players collect an impressive $266,824 each for their efforts.
Ahuja still had the chip lead and was awarded the title.
Congratulations again to Ankit Ahuja from India.
