DeepStack Extravaganza I Event #18 Final Table Wrap Up

Well, another highly successful DeepStack Series tournament is in the books. This time, our DeepStack Extravaganza I Event #18 $600 NLH MonsterStack $150K GTD attracted 478 players who vied for a guarantee-busting prize pool of $241,390. Of those, 66 returned for Day 2, and 54 found themselves in the money competing for an almost $52,000 top prize.

As is always the case, our final table had a nice mix of local regulars and a few out-of-towners. Also, as happens quite frequently, the final table started out with a bang—in this case, an immediate elimination—quickly followed by two more and then some quick double-ups before finally settling down a bit. After an extended lull in the action where the players tried to size each other up, we hit a nice stride.

When we were six-handed, our champion Ryan Rogers was extremely short-stacked with only 325,000 chips; however, he clawed his way out from the abyss to take a commanding chip lead and, ultimately, finish first. It was his huge double up against then-chip leader Andrew Burke that turned the tide and enabled Rogers to take on the equally tough Anthony Wynn in a quick heads-up battle that elevated Rogers to victory.

Congratulations again to Ryan Rogers on his big win. For his efforts, Rogers is taking home a hefty $50,029, a silver championship coin, and out stunning and highly coveted trophy.
