World Poker Tour champion Darryll Fish was left with less than two big blinds after losing an all-in to Kyle Caslin but is back in contention thanks to some luck on his side.

Fish moved all-in for 675,000 on the button and Caslin used 30 seconds of time before calling with KQ for his final 565,000 in the big blind. The A7 of Fish was a slight favorite but the Q♠9♠6 flop tilted the edge toward Caslin. A one-legged ace on the 4♣ turn followed by the 10 on the river sent the pot to the nine seat.

A few hands later, Fish was in the big blind with 70,000 behind and Jeff Battaglia, Kyle Caslin, and Frankie Flowers all limped in to try and win Fish’s stack. Fish threw his last 10,000 in the middle on the 75♠4 flop and Battaglia along with Caslin both called. Flowers raised to 300,000 and his opponents folded to the mammoth raise.

Fish showed 8♣8♠ and was in a good spot against the 65♣ of Flowers. No three, eight, or five hit the J♣ turn or Q♠ river and Fish won the pot. Battaglia and Caslin claimed after the hand to have folded ace-jack.

The next hand, Flowers opened to 130,000 in the cutoff and Fish moved in for 360,000 out of the small blind. Flowers called with two live cards K9♣ against the A♣J of Fish. A jack flopped and rivered and Fish doubled up to 800,000 as the blinds move up again.

Darryll Fish – 840,000
Kyle Caslin – 1,500,000
Frankie Flowers – 3,150,000

Cody Wiegmann

Predictably enough, the action did pick up in Level 28 and Cody Wiegmann hit the rail in the first hand of play.

Wiegmann limped in under the gun and Jeff Battaglia raised to 210,000 in the hijack. Frankie Flowers called in the small blind and Wiegmann shoved behind him for 1,380,000.

Battaliga used 90 seconds to assemble calling chips and put them in the middle. Flowers flashed ace-queen and pitched leaving Wiegmann to turn over 10♣10. Battaglia was miles ahead with K♣K and became a larger favorite after the KQ♣10♠ flop.

Wiegmann had only one out to hit the last ten in the deck and missed on the final two streets.

Battaglia increases his lead and is close to holding half of the chips in play.

Jeff Battaglia – 5,140,000
Cody Wiegmann – Eliminated

Jeff Battaglia

No major disturbances took place in the previous level and eight players remain heading into Level 28 of Event 134. Jeff Battaglia and Frankie Flowers won a few small pots each during the level and are far ahead of the competition.

No other players are over 25 big blinds and there should be a fair amount of all-ins in the next 40 minutes which could do quite a bit to shake up the leaderboard.

Antti Halme

Frankie Flowers is back on the rebound in Event 134 following his elimination of Antti Halme in ninth place.

Flowers opened to 125,000 in the hijack and Halme placed his 500,000 chips in the middle from the big blind. Halme’s chips hit the felt and Flowers called right behind him with K♠Q♣.

Halme held a slight lead with A4 but the K♣8♣3♠ flop changed that.

No ace or running straight cards came for Halme and he is out in ninth place. Flowers is back over the 2,000,000 mark with the blinds up.

Frankie Flowers – 2,100,000

Scott Clements

The only bracelet winner at the Event 134 final table, Scott Clements, is the first to exit tonight. As a result of his elimination, Jeff Battaglia is the new chip leader.

Clements pushed for 415,000 under the gun and Battaglia matched in the hijack. Anthony Wynn tanked for two minutes on the button and then folded. Frankie Flowers called right away in the small blind and began to turn his cards over once the big blind folded before noticing Battaglia was in the pot.

“You called, too?” said Flowers. He then checked in the dark and Battaglia checked behind on the J9♣4 flop. The action repeated on the 9 turn and Flowers checked again on the 7 river. A bet of 400,000 from Battaglia got Flowers to fold.

Clements turned over 22 and was crushed by Battaglia’s J♣J. Battaglia doubled through Flowers at the start of the final table and is on top for now.

Jeff Battaglia – 3,420,000
Frankie Flowers – 1,565,000
