DeepStack Extravaganza II Event #15 Final Table Wrap Up

Another DeepStack Extravaganza II tournament is in the books. This time around, it was our Event #15 $400 NLH DoubleStack $100K GTD. We attracted 250 total players over our two flights, and the prize pool was an even $100,000 (with a $16,250 overlay.)

We paid out the top 15 percent; however, only the top five percent (13 players) bagged for Day 2. Our final table was a nice mix of quiet, deliberate players and those with huge personalities.

The chip lead moved around quite a bit. In fact, Seat #3 (who wished to remain anonymous) was severely short-stacked early on; yet, he battled back to end up in second place. When we were five-handed, there was talk of a deal—and again when we were four-handed—but both times, neither reached fruition.

Finally, when we were down to three, our remaining players struck a deal, and Novo had eked out the win ahead of Seat #3.

Congratulations again to Julio Novo who won $17,709 and our stunning trophy. Congratulations again Julio!

Congratulations to James Piccolo from Las Vegas, NV who finished fifth in our DeepStack Extravaganza II Event #15 $400 NLH DoubleStack $100K GTD winning $6,300.

Robert Banto dealt Piccolo the fatal blow when Banto called after Piccolo shoved. It was Piccolo’s A♦ 4♠ versus Banto’s A♣ J♠. The flop fell 7♣ 5♥ 2♦, and, interestingly, Piccolo correctly predicted a 6♣ on the turn and 2♠ on the river and his demise.

Adam Nagel Eliminated in 6th Place ($4,800)

Congratulations to Adam Nagel from Buffalo, NY who finished sixth in our DeepStack Extravaganza II Event #15 $400 NLH DoubleStack $100K GTD winning $4,800.

Nagel fell victim to Seat #3, as did Kevin Lott in a hand where both Nagel and Lott shoved preflop. Nagel, with his 325K chips and Lott with his 320K chips. Seat #3 called. It was Nagel’s K♥ J♠ versus Lott’s pocket tens versus #3’s Q♣ A♠. When the board ran K♠ A♦ 8♥ 9♠ 2♥, #3 scored a double KO.
