The Event 18 final table didn’t take long to get jumpstarted as Moon Kim became the first player eliminated just a few hands in.

Kim opened from middle position to 75,000 and the start of Day 2 chip leader Jason Thalas called on his direct left. The rest of the table folded and the two players saw a Q♣10♠7♦ flop. Kim shoved for about 300,000 and Thalas was right behind him with a call. Kim showed J♥8♥ and trailed the A♣Q♠ of Thalas.

Needing a nine or running cards, the last two cards bricked for Kim. Thalas jumps up the leaderboard to 1,200,000 as he looks to finish the job he started earlier today.
