DeepStack Extravaganza Event 23 Champion –
Brian Altman
Event 23 drew a stacked field for the first four-figure buy-in on the DeepStack Extravaganza schedule and the final table did not disappoint. Bracelet winners and WPT Champions along with many other accomplished players reached the final 10, leading to a battle for the over $100,000 first place prize.
Brian Altman started the final table right in the middle of the pack and was down to 10 big blinds only a few levels in. Clayton Jiang forced Altman to fold for his stack but the very next hand, Altman doubled up through Barry Hutter to climb back into contention.
From that point forward, Altman gained chips by the handful and ended up eliminating the final six players that stood between him and the DSE III trophy. The $106,479 Altman earns for first place adds to his $1,700,000 in career tournament earnings. This is likely the last we’ll see of Altman this summer at the Venetian as he looks to build the rest of his summer on the foundation of this victory.
