Mike Eskandari starts Level 24 with the chip lead amidst a packed leaderboard.
The last level for the 47 remaining players in Event 56 is here. Less than 60 minutes separates the eventual survivors from a Day 3 berth and a chance to walk out of the Venetian tomorrow $487,952. Currently, the player with the best chance to that is Mike Eskandari, who is playing 1,900,000 after bluffing in a multi-way pot at the end of Level 23.
Justin Liberto opened from early position and Eskandari flatted on his direct left. Robert Hankins called in the hijack and Coultas bumped it up to 145,000 in the cutoff. All players except Hankins called and the flop came out A♠5♦2♠ and Liberto checked. Eskandari fired out 175,000 and his two opponents quickly relinquished. Eskandari showed 8♣7♣ and is, for now, the chip leader.
A lot can happen before the bags come out and we’ll see who the end of day chip leader is soon enough. A look at the current big stacks is below.
