Matthias Eibinger

What was expected to be a slow start to the new level turned into fireworks as Mo Arani and Matthias Eibinger both were eliminated in the first 10 minutes of play. Both were short-stacked coming back from dinner and wasted little time getting their chips in, only to come up empty.

Eibinger shoved for 1,985,000 under the gun with 66 and Salaburu called with K♣K♠. Both players hit the KQ♣6♣ flop but Eibinger was on the short end of it, needing a one-outer to stay alive. The turn and river did not provide salvation and he takes home $79,998 for his seventh place finish. Salaburu chips up to almost 10,000,000.

Mo Arani

Arani was next to go after losing a flip to Harsukhpaul Sangha. Sangha opened to 300,000 in the hijack and Arani shoved for 1,700,000 on the button. Sangha called with Q♣J♠ and had to hit against the 77♠ of Arani. The AK8♣2♣J board gave Sangha a pair on the river to win the hand. Arani shook hands and went to collect his $102,397 prize for sixth place.

Sangha is playing over 13,000,000 and back to a more comfortable position as chip leader.
