Short-stacked to start the final table, Vlad Tkachuk is now the chip leader with nine players still in.

In a final table where stacks are relatively small compared to the blinds, things can change on a dime and that is what has happened with Vlad Tkachuk. His stack was under 500,000 for the better part of the final table but is now the chip leader after taking down a three-street pot against Kristy Arnett.

Arnett opened to 165,000 in early position and Tkachuk called out of the small blind. Tkachuk checked the J64♠ flop and Arnett bet 200,000. Tkachuk called and both players checked the 3♠ turn. Tkachuk bet 320,000 on the Q river and Arnett called. Tkachuk showed AQ♠ for a rivered pair and Arnett mucked, giving the sizable pot to Tkachuk.

Tkachuk is playing 2,400,000 with Arnett (2,200,000) now behind him but as we have seen so far, that spot may not be permanent for Tkachuk.
