Another successful DeepStack Championship event is in the books. This time, our Event #52 $1,100 NLH DoubleStack $250K GTD attracted an impressive 391 players who created a prize pool of $379,270; eclipsing the guarantee of $250,000. Of those, 63 made it to Day 2, and we paid out 45 places.
It took nine hours for the 63 to dwindle down to the final ten, then an additional seven hours, before a champion was crowned.
That champion would be Manuel Ruivo, from Portugal, who bulldozed his way through the final table taking out Ala Aqel (10th), Sam Jozani (6th), Andrew Crookston (3rd) and Michael Bennett (2nd) on his way to victory.
Ruivo collected his second Venetian DeepStack trophy after winning one last year. His score tonight added to an already impressive poker resume that saw him surpass $715,000 in career earnings.
