DeepStack Championship Event #111 Final Table Wrap Up

Another successful DeepStack Championship event is in the books. This time, our Event #111 $400 NLH MonsterStack $60K GTD attracted 343 players who created a prize pool of $114,905; crushing the guarantee of $60,000. Of those, 36 made the money, each earning themselves $804.

Just over twelve hours was needed for this single day event to reach a final table of ten. Then, in just over an hour of play, a champion was crowned.

Joseph Gordon was eliminated by Randall Yaroch in the opening hand of the final table.

Jakub Toth and Jason Morman then both fell in consecutive hands to Len Lagoe Jr after both started with the more dominating hand.

Ricardo Gramowski fell in 7th place to Jared Ambler, after getting it all in on a jack-high flop, with pocket kings against queen-jack. A jack spiked on the turn to see Gramowski’s night cut suddenly short.

Lagoe Jr then went on a knockout spree, eliminating Sharman Olshan (6th), Alex Dederer (5th) and Carla Sabini (4th) in the space of 15 minutes, before three players were left.

Yaroch, Ambler and Lagoe Jr then agreed to a chop three-handed, which saw Yaroch finish in 3rd, Ambler place second and Lagoe Jr crowned the eventual champion.

Len Lagoe Jr Wins DeepStack Championship Event #111 and $20,000

Congratulations to Len Lagoe Jr from Las Vegas, NV who took down our DeepStack Championship Event #111 $400 NLH MonsterStack $60K GTD winning an even $20,000.

Len Lagoe Jr started the final table as one of the big stacks. In the space of an hour, he was able to obtain five knockouts (Jakub Toth – 9th, Jason Mormon – 8th, Sharman Olshan – 6th, Alex Dederer – 5th and Carla Sabini – 4th), before reaching three-handed with the chip lead.

Once there, he as well as Randall Yaroch and Jared Ambler, agreed to a chop that saw Lagoe Jr awarded the title as well as $20,000 for his dominating performance.

Jared Ambler Finishes in 2nd Place ($19,582)

Ambler started the final table as the chip leader. He was able to notch up his only knockout, taking Ricardo Gramowski out in 7th place, after he improved to trip jacks on the turn against pocket queens after all the money went in on a jack-high flop.

Once three-handed, Ambler agreed to a chop with Randall Yaroch and Len Lagoe Jr, that saw him finish second as well as pocketing $19,582 for his days work.

Randall Yaroch Finishes in 3rd Place ($15,000)

Congratulations to Randall Yaroch from Warren, MI who finished 3rd in our DeepStack Championship Event #111 $400 NLH MonsterStack $60K GTD winning $15,000.

Yarcoch came into the final table as one of the short stacks, but immediately added to his stack, after eliminating Joseph Gordon in the very first hand of play.

Once three-handed, Yaroch agreed to a chop with Jared Ambler and Len Lagoe Jr, that saw Yaroch claim third place as well as collecting an even $15,000 for his efforts.

Carla Sabini Eliminated in 4th Place ($8,733)

Carla Sabini moved all in for 675,000 from the cutoff and was called by Len Lagoe Jr on the button.

The action folded around to Jared Ambler in the small blind who called. Ricardo Gramowski raised to 275,000 from the big blind. Ambler quickly called.

The flop came J♠ 2♦ 5♥ and Ambler checked. Gramowski continued for 225,000. Ambler quickly moved all in for around 1,500,000. Gramowski made the call with around 1,000,000 behind.

Gramowski had the lead with the over pair, until the J♦ spiked on the turn, improving Ambler to trip jacks.

The 7♣ on the river, was no help for Gramowski, who was sent to the rail in 7th place.

Jason Morman Eliminated in 8th Place ($3,102)

A sizeable pot had accumulated in the middle of the table and the board showed 7♦ J♣ 2♠ 7♣ 8♦.

Jason Mormon had checked his option from under the gun before Len Lagoe Jr moved all in from middle position. The bet had Mormon covered. Mormon deliberated for a moment before making the call.

Lagoe Jr then turned over his 8♣ 8♥ for a full house, which was good enough to take the pot, after Mormon slammed down his K♣ K♥ in frustration.

Jakub Toth Eliminated in 9th Place ($2,402)

Len Lagoe Jr called from the cutoff and was followed by Sharman Olshan on the button. Jakub Toth then moved all in for 1,000,000 from the small blind. Lagoe Jr then moved all in for 1,600,000. Olshan mucked her hand.

The board ran out J♣ T♠ 5♥ 2♥ 7♠, improving Lagoe Jr to a set on the river, which was enough to eliminate Toth.

Toth was considerably upset after the hand, jumping up and down in frustration. He eventually calmed himself down, and apologised to the table, before exiting the tournament floor.
