DeepStack Championship Event #65 Final Table Wrap Up

Another successful DeepStack Championship event is in the books. This time, our Event #65 $1,100 NLH DoubleStack (1Day) $250K GTD attracted 476 players who created a prize pool of $466,480; smashing the guarantee of $250,000. Of those, 54 made the money, all earning themselves a minimum of $2,099 for their efforts.

A gruelling single day tournament saw 476 players dwindle down to just one after more than 16 hours of play.

The final table kicked off with the elimination of Reginald Roberts in tenth place within 20-minutes of play. The action then slowed down, with nine-handed play, lasting over an hour.

The next five players dropped in under an hour with Sandeep Varma (9th), Robert Webb (8th), Ryan Jaconetti (7th), David Tous (6th) and Phong Than Nguyen (5th) all hitting the rail.

The final four players discussed a chop, but one disapproved, so play continued.

Jeffrey Tanouye had the chip lead four-handed, but lost a big hand with ace-queen vs ace-queen (Joseph Elpayaa would make a flush), to see him fall in fourth. Dylan Thomassie lasted a little longer before being taken out by Barak Wisbrod.

Wisbrod and Joseph Elpayaa then looked at numbers once more. It didn’t suit the two, and one hand later, the tournament was over. Wisbrod moved all in with ace-seven and bested Elpayaa’s ace-four to see him capture the title.

Congratulations again to Barak Wisbrod from Israel.
