Another successful DeepStack Championship event is in the books. This time, our Event #106 $600 NLH DoubleStack $200K GTD attracted 837 players who created a prize pool of $431,055; doubling the guarantee of $200,000. Of those, 90 made the money, each earning themselves $1,121.
The single day event started at noon, and after 15 hours of play, saw the field shrink from 837 to a final table of nine. An additional two and a half hours was needed before a champion was crowned.
Gary Herstein eliminated the first two players from the final table, Stanislav Barshak (9th) and David Stamm (8th), leaving seven players.
David Margi then took care of the next two players, Cantidio Villar (7th) and Victor Kait (6th), leaving five.
Kevin Garosshen would earn the last two knockouts, Yo Hwan Lim (5th) and Andrea Sorrentino (4th), ultimately leaving three players to battle it out.
Garosshen, Margi and Herstein played around thirty minutes three-handed before all agreeing to a chop. Herstein ended up finishing in 3rd, Margi in second, and Garosshen claimed the win.
