Another successful DeepStack Championship event is in the books. This time, our Event #108 $600 HORSE $40K GTD attracted 137 players who created a prize pool of $71,240; eclipsing the guarantee of $40,000. Of those, 16 made the money, each earning themselves $1,211.
The single day event kicked of at noon, and reached a final table in just under ten hours of play. An additional three and a half hours was needed before a champion was crowned.
The action on the final table started off really quickly, with the elimination of both Leonard August (9th) and Nicolas Milgram (8th) in the opening minutes, both falling during Seven Card Stud.
An hour passed before Valentin Vornicu (7th) and Danny Woolard (6th) fell to the rail in the same orbit of Razz.
Five handed play lasted another hour, as short-stacks Angelo Mancini (5th) and Tom Love (4th), hung around with their short stacks, before ultimately hitting the rail leaving three.
Brian Nadell, who started the final table as one of the short stacks, was never able to get anything going before he was the last player eliminated from the final table falling to Smith Sirisakorn.
Once heads up, both Sirisakorn and Matt Grapenthien agreed on a chop, that saw Sirisakorn finish in second place and Grapenthien awarded the title of HORSE champion.
